BMC Helix is looking for Senior Quality Automation Engineer to join our BMC Helix Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for validating enterprise-grade SaaS and platform capabilities across the BMC Helix portfolio, with a strong focus on test automation, quality strategy, integration validation, and end-to-end product reliability. You will work closely with engineering, product management, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality releases in a fast-paced Agile environment

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success: 

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end validation.
• Own quality validation for BMC Helix platform and applications, ensuring functionality, stability, performance, and reliability.
• Create and execute test strategies, test plans, and automation suites aligned with product requirements and release goals.
• Validate microservices-based, cloud-native, and SaaS applications across multiple environments.
• Drive API testing, backend validation, and service integration testing using modern automation tools.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to identify quality gaps early and enable shift-left testing.
• Analyze defects, perform root cause assessment, and work with engineering teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Improve CI/CD quality gates by integrating automated tests into build and deployment pipelines.
• Contribute to test data management, environment readiness, and release certification processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and help establish best practices in automation, quality engineering, and test design.
To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6–10+ years of experience in software testing and automation engineering.
  • Strong experience in test automation using Java, Selenium, TestNG/JUnit, or similar frameworks.
  • Knowledge in Playwright / Python is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in API automation using tools/frameworks such as Rest Assured, Postman, or similar.
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum, test lifecycle, defect management, and release validation.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud/SaaS application testing, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with database validation and backend testing using SQL.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills: 

• Test Automation experience, Scripting skills (preferably Robot Framework, Python etc.) 
• Performance testing (Scalability, benchmarking, Load) frameworks, such as JMeter, etc.
• Agile methodology 
• Jenkins CI

At HELIX we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 2,841,000 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The salary listed is just one component of HELIX's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
