We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer who combines deep expertise in BMC Helix ITSM & Innovation Studio with a robust understanding of Telecommunications Network Operations (Telco OSS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

In this role, you will bridge complex telecom infrastructure—spanning IP/Packet Core, RAN, and Transmission—with AI-driven Service Management automation. You will work directly with telecom enterprise clients to translate high-pressure network operational challenges into intelligent, automated workflows, building custom AI-augmented applications on the BMC Helix platform.
Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC Helix's and your own success:

  • Telco-AI Solutions Architecture: Articulate complex telecom operational issues (e.g., fault triage, alarm suppression, network outages) and design targeted AI-driven workflows to automate root cause analysis and incident resolution.
  • Platform & Workflow Engineering: Architect, build, and deploy custom applications on BMC Helix Innovation Studio and the BMC Helix platform to streamline Telco OSS/ITIL operations.
  • Customer-Facing Code & Co-Development: Work hands-on alongside telecom client engineering teams to build, test, and deploy customized code, prototypes, and field integrations in live customer environments.
  • Cross-System & API Integration: Design high-performance REST APIs and data pipelines connecting BMC Helix ITSM/Innovation Studio with legacy and modern Telecom Network Management Systems (NMS) and OSS tools.
  • AI Model Deployment: Select, integrate, and deploy machine learning models, LLMs, and predictive AI techniques to automate network ticketing, event management, and service assurance workflows.
  • Drive the digital and AI transformation of next-generation telecom networks.
  • Build advanced, AI-powered agentic workflows on top of enterprise-scale BMC Helix architecture.
  • Direct access to high-impact telecom projects at global scale.
To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
  • BMC Helix Ecosystem Expertise: 7–8 years of hands-on experience in BMC Helix Remedy / BMC Helix ITSM, with proven mastery in application development via BMC Helix Innovation Studio.
  • Telecom Operational Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of core telecom network domains, including IP Core, Packet Core, Transmission (Optical/Transport), and RAN (Radio Access Network).
  • Must-Have AI & ML Expertise: Strong, direct experience working with modern AI models, LLMs, NLP, or predictive machine learning frameworks, specifically applying them to complex operational or event-driven datasets.
  • Programming & Scripting: Proficient in Python and Java.
  • Data & Integration: Advanced skills in SQL and building/consuming RESTful APIs for high-volume enterprise integrations.
  • Frameworks & Methodologies: Thorough understanding of standard ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Event Management) and working knowledge of the BMC Helix ADAPT framework.
  • Customer Delivery: Strong customer-facing engineering background with experience co-developing custom solutions directly with external technical teams.
  • Telco OSS & NMS Hands-On Experience: Direct working experience with Telecom Operational Support Systems (OSS) and Network Management Systems (NMS).
  • Vendor Ecosystem Familiarity: Hands-on experience integrating or working with vendor platforms such as Nokia NetAct, Ericsson OCM (Operation and Control Manager), Huawei NMS, Marconi, or Ciena networking/NMS products.
  • Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE): Proven track record as a Forward Deployed Engineer or Field Solutions Architect rapidly shipping code in complex, client-managed telecom environments.
  • Multi-Platform ITSM Expertise: Working familiarity with alternative ITSM tools such as ServiceNow ITSM or Jira Service Management (JSM).

At HELIX we believe in pay transparency and have set the midpoint of the salary band for this role at 3,398,800 INR. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. 

The salary listed is just one component of HELIX's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
